While Qalandars retained eight players, Fakhar Zaman was not among them, signaling his availability for any team in the draft. However, sources suggest that the defending champions might use the Right to Match (RTM) card to secure Fakhar’s services in the PSL 9 Draft.
In the Platinum category, Qalandars have the sixth pick, and if Fakhar gets picked by another team, Qalandars can use the RTM card to reclaim him. The team that initially picked Fakhar will then get an additional pick in the same category.
Lahore Qalandars COO Sameen Rana confirmed Fakhar Zaman’s importance to the team, stating, Fakhar Zaman is part of our family. Retaining him is part of our strategy.”
It’s important to note that using the RTM card comes with a fee of $10,000.
