Though the league aims to provide exposure and unearth future UAE talent, it is in some ways the first, truly global league: each franchise can have up to 12 overseas players in an 18-man squad. At least three members in a squad will need to be UAE players, two from other Associates, as well as one Under-23 UAE player. A playing XI can have a maximum of nine overseas players along with at least one UAE and one Associate player.
The DP World ILT20 2025 tournament follows a double round-robin format, where the six franchise teams play each other twice leading to 30 league matches where in the final four teams advance to the playoffs.
Each team will include nine overseas players, that will feature a UAE player and one ICC Associate Member Nation. The ILT20 has introduced a “Super Sub” rule, that allows each team one substitution per match at designated intervals.

Most Expensive Players in ILT20 2025
The UAE-based International League T20 (ILT20) is set to offer top players a whopping USD 450,000 per season, making it the second-most lucrative T20 league for some players outside of the IPL.
Highest Paid T20 League 2024
The highest-paid player in the IPL earns more than USD 2 million per season; in the PSL it is USD 200,000; the Hundred offers its best-paid player USD 164,000; and the most expensive overseas players in the BBL make about USD 238,000 per season.
Prize Money of ILT20-2024-25
ILT20 prize money is $1.3 million (USD), where the winning team will receive $700,000 and the runner-up team will receive $300,000.
In the upcoming tournament, individual award winners have the chance to win unique belts and a USD 15,000 prize for each award. The best batter will receive the Green Belt, which Desert Vipers’ Alex Hales won in the previous season and aims to win again in Season 2. Chris Jordan of the Giants, who secured both the white and red belts last season, is looking to repeat his success as the best bowler and most valuable player.
Last season, UAE captain Muhammad Waseem claimed the Blue Belt, and he is eager to deliver another strong performance for MI Emirates this season.
