Pitch Report and Analysis of Arun Jaitely Stadium Dehli

The Arun Jaitley Stadium pitch in Delhi is widely regarded as a quality batting surface. High-scoring games have historically resulted from it, especially in the IPL.

The ball come nicely onto the bat; the bounce and pace is even. Furthermore, there is neither lateral movement nor significant turn, so the batters have a great time out there in the middle.

Given the high-scoring nature of the ground, the team winning the toss typically chooses to bat first and post a challenging total on the scoreboard.

Recently we witnessed highest ever score of 428/5 at this venue by South Africa against Sri Lanka in ODI World Cup 2023. Five matches are to be played at this venue in this World Cup 2023.

We witnessed three matches till today. And in all three matches we saw plenty of runs scored. India also chased down Afghanistan score of 272 in 35 overs in this venue.

Today Afghanistan team scored 284 runs against England. Afghanistan scored 80 runs in first 10 overs. Bowl was coming on the bat nicely. There were no help for the pacers in first 10 overs and all England pace battery suffered and leaked lot of runs. Then came England spinner and they curtailed some runs by bowling some very slow spin balls.

But this time England failed to score 284 of Afghanistan and historic Afghanistan win came. But Afghanistan bowlers outclassed English batters with their stump to stump line. Afghanistan has three quality spinners. Two Fast bowlers. All of them bowled excellent on belter of pitch.

Again pitch plays huge role. But there are also other factors for wining the match such as 1. Toss winning 2.  Teams playing in match (their squad strength) 3. Home team India playing or not (As home team has advantage to prepare pitch according to their team plan).

Cricket is a funny game and sometimes the weaker time beat stronger teams with their skills and execution irrespective of pitch condition.
