This is the 13th edition of the ICC Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. Total prize money that teams will earn is USD 10 million for the mega event , which begins on October 5 in Ahmedabad.

The 48-match event will be played across 10 venues in India. 2023 ODI World Cup will be played between 10 teams with 45 league matches.

India, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Australia, Afghanistan and South Africa progressed from the 2020-23 ODI Super League. Sri Lanka and the Netherlands came through the qualifying tournament held in June and July 2023. The biggest miss is West Indies and Ireland which were left out by loosing the qualifying tournament. Sri Lanka and Netherlands qualified through the qualifying tournament.

The defending champions England and the runner-up in 2019 New Zealand will kick off the competition.

The other venues to feature ICC World Cup 2023 matches are Ahmadabad, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow and Dharamshala and Pune. One of the two semi-finals will be played in Mumbai, while another one will be played in Kolkata. Final will be played in Narendra Modi stadium Ahmedabad.

Losing semifinalists: USD 800,000 per team
Teams eliminated after the first round: USD 100,000 per team
