Akram hit a brilliant unbeaten 135 off just 80 balls to help his side register 365/3, with opener Haseebullah Khan also scoring 136.
Qasim Akram also took 5 wickets with his off-break to finish with figures of 5/37 off ten overs to inspire a crunching win.
The 19-year-old’s heroics make him the first player in ICC U19 World Cup history to score a century and take five wickets in the same match.
Qasim Akram Domestic Career
He started playing his domestic cricket for Central Punjab in National T20 Cup 2020-21. He then made his First Class debut for Central Punjab in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020-21. In 2021, after being selected in CP squad for Pakistan Cup, he made his List A debut and made his first century scoring 108 runs.
In Pakistan Cup 2021-22 He scored 285 runs and took 10 wickets in his 10 games.
Qasim Akram Under-19 Career
He was first selected in the Pakistan team squad for ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2020. In April 2021, he was named as the captain of the Pakistan team for their series against Bangladesh. Later he was also part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad for their series against Sri Lanka. He was named as the captain of the Pakistan squad for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2022.
